As Seattle wedding photographers, our style is fun, candid and fresh, with an emphasis on taking as
many family portraits as you need (our record: 63 versions in 55
minutes – whew!) We like to fit right in at weddings by being gracious,
helpful, and efficient. Having you enjoy the time you spend with us –
and loving your photos, of course – is our priority.
Where did the name “Red Fish Blue Fish” come from?
A blind date of Jennifer’s thought it up years ago. At a recent party, we ran into him! He remembered the date, but not the advice.
How did we become photographers?
Jennifer had been photographing children for years. When we married in 2000, Scott started photography school, and we launched into weddings full time. A few years later, Scott left his 17-year position directing a non-profit. Since then, we’ve added two more associate photographers and expanded into corporate and political event photography.
What’s a typical year for us?
Busy and fun! We photograph about 45 weddings a year, 20 each of engagement, family and senior portraits, several B’nai Mitzvots and a couple dozen political events. Our newest service, “Studio-on-the-Go”, is a professional studio with on-site printing of color prints in personalized folders for guests to take home.
What keeps us busy besides work?
• Planning vacations! On the roster: visiting friends in Germany, Hawaii for our nephew’s graduation, a family reunion in Iowa and maybe a southwest road trip.
• Never-ending home improvements. Scott will finish the huge yard project he started last year. It’s great to have an outdoor photo studio! We can’t wait for spring!
• Catching up on our Netflix queue and claiming our season tickets at the ACT.
• Helping our daughter with her new specialized catering business: www.zarahlovesfood.com
What’s in our iTunes?
The latest “This American Life” and “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me!” podcasts, the soundtrack to “Across the Universe” and internet radio. Martha’s Vineyard Radio is our current favorite!
